- Quzhou White Porcelain Museum -
Porcelain is a ceramic material made by heating raw materials, generally including kaolinite, in a kiln to high temperatures. The greater strength and translucence of porcelain, relative to other types of pottery, arise mainly from vitrification and the formation of the mineral mullite within the body at these high temperatures.
The owner of the museum is a master potter and an entrepreneur, who has researched and crafted thousands of ceramic works. This museum would be the biggest permanent exhibition hall for him to display, and there is also a research center on the top floor of the building.

To shape a hand-crafted form for the museum, we use arc chamfering to eliminate the edges and corners of the building. The radius of each arc is systematically controlled and deliberated. At the same time, considering of the limitation of local construction team, we tried to avoid the occurrence of two-way chamfers. As we expected, even when the construction difficulty has been simplified, the actual construction results are still very disappointed.
